The search engines follow links into your website. If these links are from relevant websites and the anchor text is a keyword you are trying to improve a search position for, then your website will move up the rankings.

We all get reciprocal link requests in our email on a daily basis. This is free traffic if you follow the guidelines below. But, before you can benefit from a link exchange you need a page on your website that you can put their link on. Go for it..it helps!

• Is there any relevance between your two websites? If no then disregard.
• Request that they put your link on their website first
• Send them this information
  1. Title - Your keyword
  2. Url - website address
  3. Description - a sentence or two (unique) about your product, service or business.
  4. The website address of your link swapping page.
     That is all they need.
     You do not need to worry about coding.
     This is a good opportunity to promote deep links.
• Check your link is on their website before you add yours.
• IMPORTANT: Make a note to check that your website link is still on their website a week later. If it isn't then remove their link.
