List Snippets
Google have recently introduced list snippets into the listings of Google searches.
You can see these on a google search and it extends the area of the description with three lines of bullet points. An example of one of our Google listings is shown below.
The first line of the description tells us approximately how many items are in the lists. We have seen these at 10+, 20+, 40+ etc. This is then followed by the first line of our meta description. Three bullet points follow and these are the first long list google has found on the page.

Based on this information for some of our inner website pages, have a look at how google lists that page, then tweak the first sentence of your meta description and long list to entice users to click your link.

Single words in bullet points are not a good idea unless specifically required. Try and expand on the content of them into a meaningful sentence.
